1. Interview with LaVina Pratt, founder of Eagle Hills Handwriting Experts & http://www.handwritings.com

This interview was conducted by Tim Benedict, a freelance writer, with LaVina Pratt via email.

Tim:
So tell me LaVina, and I know we all are interested in what you have to say on this, but can Handwriting Analysis tell us whether or not we can trust someone who is running for office?
LaVina: If you want me to quote - "If his or her lips are moving, they're lying" - but I won't do that. But close.... For instance, just as an NBA star signs his name with large initial capital letters, so does a political type person.

Tim: How is someone's signature different from their regular writing?
LaVina: Their signature is often slanted towards how they WANT to be perceived, whereas their actual writing depicts who they really are in day to day life.

Tim: So by analyzing someone's signature, you can actually find out a lot about them?
LaVina: Yes & No. It depends somewhat on the length of their name. If your name is just "Mo", then no.

Tim: Real briefly, what kinds of things would you clue in on if you were looking at a politician's signature?
LaVina: Generally, most successful politician's signatures reveal intelligence - like Clinton's did. Or take a look at Colin Powell's. His demonstrates integrity. I look for things like this.

Tim: Did you try analyzing anyone's signature in the last election?
LaVina: Yes I did.

Tim: Without naming names, did it influence how you voted?
LaVina: Absolutely!!

Tim: How would you go about seeing a candidate's signature before an election? Can you write them a letter that presumably they will reply too and sign, or get their promotional literature, or just what?
LaVina: Most of their promotional literature will have their "authentic" signature on it.

Tim: So give us one or two major handwriting characteristics for people to look at in a politician's handwriting when they want to know if they can trust some one in office.
LaVina: The presence of deceit indicators, ego indicators, things like that.

Tim: Ever have anyone ask you to analyze a politician's signature for them?
LaVina: Yes in a local mayor's race a short time back, several people did ask me to analyze the different candidates' writing.

Tim: Is that something that people should do more of before they vote?
LaVina: Yes, and they should also read, ask questions, and then ask more questions.

Tim: What about if the politician tries to sue someone for slander if they analyze their signature and come up with all sorts of negative things? Is Handwriting Analysis accepted well enough and accurate enough that you can protect yourself from that sort of thing?
LaVina: Handwriting analysis does not require permission from the author, just like a 35 mm picture or digital picture does not require permission to be taken. It is a portrait of the person, just like a paper or digital picture.

Tim: Any last comments on this subject for our readers?
LaVina: There are several good schools on handwriting analysis available and possibly one available in the near future from myself as well. Check them all out before putting your money on the line, literally!

Tim: Thank you for your time. It's been most delightful.
LaVina: Likewise!

2.) A Signature analyzed.

Take a look at http://www.idsos.state.id.us/, the home page for the Secretary of State for the State of Idaho. Here is his signature. Pete T. Cenarussa.

Note the way the Capital T is formed. Call that self-control. Now note the flat top r's in his last name. That comes from manual dexterity. And the little flourish at the end of his name bears witness to his generosity.

3.) Testimonial

"I asked myself 7 years ago, 'How can I avoid these costly hiring and firing
problems?' That's when I saw LaVina's ad for handwriting screening and
decided to call her. I have used her services ever since and have cut my
costs by 80%!" Jeanette J. MBNA
