******** Part One: National Handwriting Week ********
There's a holiday for everything nowadays it seems, and even handwriting is getting on the bandwagon with its own national week of recognition. It's about time handwriting started to get the attention it deserves *smile*. So whose handwriting have you analyzed today?
So in the spirit of the week, let's touch on several different ways handwriting can benefit you on a daily basis, and not just during this one week of recognition. You've no doubt thought or used several of them, but all of them?
Have car problems and don't know what mechanic to trust? Get a signed estimate of the work to be done. Do you know how to read their signature and thereby trust them or not?
Now me, with kids coming up on dating age, I can think of nothing better than to teach my kids to read a potential date's writing to know whether to trust them or not. You can't be too careful these days. And hey! If my child wants to convince me that their date is "OK", they know right up front that their date's handwriting goes by me first. If daddy's satisfied with a date's handwriting, things will go much smoother all the way around for everybody involved.......
How about for the younger folk out there, or those of you actually getting into the dating scene yourself? It pays to know how to read your potential date's handwriting, for your own safety if nothing else. And this goes for guys too... But more on this whole topic next month *smile*.
Do you hire people? Know who to hire, or what to expect from different individuals. Are you looking for a job? Should you trust your potential employer, or look elsewhere?
And the one we touched on last month, about deciding who to vote for. Did you use it in deciding your vote? We would love to hear from some of you who did!
Do you know the signals in writing, that indicate a friend might need a comforting hug or listening ear?
So don't just use handwriting this week, use it everyday!!!

If you will take a look at this handwriting sample

let's talk about some of the things that we can pick out about this person.
The words all begin with an initial one stroke: which mean directness. This person will get to the point up front and will expect the same from you. Downstrokes below the line are strong showing determination. Square tops of letters indicate manual dexterity, this person will be good with their hands. The fullness in the downstrokes of the j and the q indicate gregariousness. This person would be a good person to be around, if he or she doesn't run over you with their quick mind!

Interesting article about computers and handwriting

Did you know that they've developed a computer program that can identify people through their handwriting? And it's accurate 98% of the time? Kinda neat. They expect to possibly start using it in a forensic role to identify criminals from ransom notes, threat letters, and the like. It's really kind of interesting. Read the article!
